Main topic: The extreme weather as a cause of the war

While searching the issue related to climate and weather for the topic of our term project, we have found an interesting article about ‘the relationship between Syrian war and climate change’

The article was introducing the research claiming that Syrian war was triggered by a severe drought worsened by a climate change, especially warming climate.

Supplement: The extreme weather as a tactic of the war

The article about 'Syrian war' reminded us that we had learned the ‘battle of red cliffs’ in ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’.

In this historical battle, Zhuge Liang (military strategist of the allies led by Zhou Yu and Liu Bei) predicted the change of the wind direction and led the battle to victory with few military forces compared to the other military forces led by Cao Cao.

After reading the article and reminding what we had learned, we found that

the weather has a big influence on the war, which might be affected to the world history.

So we decided to analyse these two following subtopics :

1) weather as a cause in the war in the little ice age  for main topic

2) weather as a tactic in the war  for supplement
